Today (November 9, 2020), Air Seychelles announced that they will resume service to Tel Aviv from November 18, 2020, following the inclusion of Israel on the Seychelles Ministry of Health’s ‘green countries’ list. Prior to departure from Tel Aviv, travelers must submit a Health Travel Authorization form (available online) following the completion of a negative COVID-19 PCR test. Passengers must also have a booking voucher for a recognized hotel and credible insurance and agree to follow social distancing and hygiene regulations. In Monday’s announcement, Air Seychelles COO, Charles Johnson, said,

“After an 8 month absence from the Tel Aviv-Seychelles route, we are thrilled to be returning to our normal commercial flights this month. Thanks to the geographic isolation of the country, Seychelles is a safe destination for tourists who want to get away from the stress of 2020 and enjoy a relaxing beach holiday. Seychelles has taken enormous steps to keep its citizens and visitors safe during this pandemic, and entry into the country is limited to select nationalities. We look forward to welcoming our Israeli guests back to our stunning islands.”

Air Seychelles will operate twice-weekly service on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The flights will depart Tel Aviv at 23:25 and arrive in the Seychelles the following morning at 07:45. The return flight operates on Mondays and Wednesdays, departing at 17:30 and arriving in Tel Aviv at 21:50. The 6 hour and 20 minute flight will be operated with the carrier’s new Airbus A320neo which includes 12 Business Class seats. To celebrate the relaunch of service, Air Seychelles is offering a limited number of seats on the Tel Aviv-Seychelles route for US $499 (tax included) for November departures.

Founded in 1978, Air Seychelles is the national carrier of the Seychelles. The carrier started long-haul services in 1983 and currently offers international flights to Johannesburg, Mauritius, Mumbai and Tel Aviv. Air Seychelles offers over 350 domestic flights weekly throughout the archipelago, including charter flights. The carrier is a pillar of tourism for the island nation’s strongest and growing sector and maintains a strategic partnership with Etihad Airways. Etihad, the national carrier of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), maintains a 40 percent equity stake in Air Seychelles.
