Air France to Triple Domestic Network Capacity This Holiday Season

The airline will operate up to 55 percent of their schedule compared to 2019 and will offer 13 seasonal domestic routes between December 18th and January 3, 2021. Air France is also increasing service to the French Overseas Territories for the holiday season.

On Thursday (November 26, 2020), Air France announced that they will triple their domestic capacity this holiday season so friends and families can be together. The carrier will operate around 55 percent of their schedule compared to 2019 with additional service in mainland France as well as overseas territories. The increased frequencies will include departures from Paris as well as inter-regional routes that had previously been suspended due to lockdowns such as from Bordeaux to Marseille and Nice, Lille to Marseille and Toulouse and Lyon-Biarritz. From Paris-Charles de Gaulle, Air France will resume service to Biarritz and Rennes and from Paris-Orly, the carrier will offer service to Pau. The airline will also restart their Rennes-Toulouse, Strasbourg-Toulouse and Strasbourg-Nice routes.


Starting December 18th, Air France will also operate 13 seasonal routes through January 3, 2021 including Biarritz-Nice, Bordeaux-Lille, Brest-Toulon, Caen-Nice, Strasbourg-Marseille, Strasbourg-Biarritz, Strasbourg-Brest, Strasbourg-Pau, Rennes-Marseille, Rennes-Nice, as well as Paris-CDG to Ajaccio and Bastia. The airline will also increase frequencies to the overseas territories with additional departures from Paris Orly to Cayenne, Pointe-à-Pitre, Fort-de-France and Saint-Denis de La Réunion. From December 14, 2020, Air France will also operate flights between Paris-CDG and Pointe-à-Pitre and Fort-de-France.


Air France reminds guests to familiarize themselves with current travel regulations including required COVID-19 testing protocols. The presentation of a negative COVID-19 PCR test is currently mandatory for travel the French Overseas Territories. The carrier is committed to the health and safety of customers and team members and has implemented the multi-layered ‘Air France Protect’ health and hygiene program which includes enhanced aircraft cleaning, temperature checks to certain destinations and the compulsory wearing of masks throughout the journey. For added peace of mind, Air France is also offering fully flexible fares with the option of postponing or canceling flights at no extra charge for any reason through March 31, 2021.
