On Monday (February 20, 2023), Air France, the official airline partner of the Cannes Film Festival, announced that they will operate three special flights between Los Angeles (LAX) and Nice (NCE) on May 15th, 22nd and 29th. The special flights have been added to meet high demand for U.S. West Coast customers who want to enjoy the French Riviera and its world-famous international film festival this spring. Air France will operate the special flights with a 324-seat Airbus A350-900 featuring 34 Business Class, 24 Premium Economy and 266 Economy Class seats. On May 15th and 22nd flight AF041 will depart Los Angeles at 13:10, and arrive in Nice at 09:30+1. On May 29th, flight AF040 departs Nice at 13:55 and arrives in Los Angeles at 17:05.

Air France's Business Class seats convert into a nearly 2-meter full-flat bed, for optimal comfort. In Premium Economy, guests will enjoy the latest recliner-type seat with a wide seat pan of 48cm and a generous 120 degree recline. Economy class customers will also appreciate the comfort of a seat fitted with ergonomic seat foam, 79cm of legroom and a 118 degree recline. Each cabin also offers an inflight Wi-Fi connection and wide individual High-Definition IFE touch screens. The Airbus A350 is the new crown jewel in Air France’s long-haul fleet, offering a 25 percent reduction in CO2 emissions and a 40 percent smaller noise footprint compared to previous generation aircraft.

For the summer 2023 season (March through October), Air France will operate up to 26 weekly flights between Paris-Charles de Gaulle (CDG) and Los Angeles (LAX). Additionally, Air France will be operating four special flights between New York (JFK) and Nice (NCE) for the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, which takes place between June 19-23, 2023. These special flights will be operated with a Boeing 777-300ER fitted with Air France’s new long-haul cabins, with departures from New York on June 17th,18th, 23rd and 24th, 2023.

This year, Air France celebrates their 43rd year as the official airline partner of the Cannes Film Festival. The world’s biggest movie festival's 76th edition will take place from May 16th through 27th, 2023. Ever since Air France debuted their first inflight movie, An American in Paris, onboard a Lockheed Constellation flying from New York’s Idlewild Airport (now JFK) in 1951, cinema has been part of Air France’s DNA. The carrier promotes cinema all year long in their long-haul cabins with the latest-generation individual high-definition IFE screens, featuring over 1,500 hours of content, including French films and movies that have won awards at previous editions of the Cannes Film Festival.
