Today, Air Dolomiti, the Italian regional carrier and member of the Lufthansa Group, announced the resumption of service to Munich and Frankfurt from June 15, 2020. The carrier’s partial restart of service to Germany will include more weekly frequencies with flights from Florence, Venice and Turin to Munich, as well as Frankfurt service from Verona and Turin. Additionally, Air Dolomiti will offer flights on behalf of Lufthansa from Venice and Bologna to Frankfurt, complementing the existing service from Milan-Malpensa to Frankfurt. In Wednesday’s announcement, Air Dolomiti’s President and CEO, Joerg Eberhart said,

“It will be a semblance of semi-normality and we will be able to start seeing our turquoise diamond in the skies more often again. During the lockdown it was not easy to see our aircraft lined up on the apron, but the hope of my staff and me was never lacking. Last week we were pleased to inaugurate the first domestic flights over Sicily from Florence Airport. Today we are pleased to see our tails on the runway ready to take off for the German hubs.”

Also commenting on today’s announcement, Air Dolomiti’s Vice President Commercial & Sales, Paolo Sgaramella added,

“In view of the current contingency and to facilitate a smooth recovery, we are also proposing flexible rebooking conditions for theses flights. With a surcharge of 70 € and a possible fare adjustment it will be possible to change all bookings made from March 20, 2020 for Economy Light and Business Saver fares as well: we hope in this way to encourage travellers to make their bookings in security.”
