Air Canada’s Aeroplan and Uber Canada Add New Ways to Earn Points Everyday

Aeroplan is expanding their partnership with Uber Canada, giving members more ways to earn even more points by linking their Aeroplan with Uber/Uber Eats in Canada. From May 3rd, members can earn one Aeroplan point per dollar spent on everyday Uber purchases.

On Monday (May 1, 2023), Air Canada announced that Aeroplan is expanding their partnership with Uber Canada, giving members more ways to earn points on everyday purchases. From May 3rd, Aeroplan members can earn one point per $1.00 spent on eligible orders in the Grocery and Retail sections of the Uber Eats app, with no minimum spend required. To benefit from the new earnings opportunity, Aeroplan members must link their account with their Uber/Uber Eats account in Canada. Additionally, Aeroplan members can take advantage of a range of offers after linking their accounts.

Members can earn 5X Aeroplan points on their next grocery or retail delivery order with Uber Eats from May 3rd through May 31, 2023. Customers can also earn 250 bonus Aeroplan points when completing an eligible Uber ride, a restaurant food delivery of $40 or more (only $25 until June 1st, 2023), or an eligible Grocery or Retail order through Uber Eats. With the ‘new eater bonus’, members will earn 1,000 bonus Aeroplan points after opening their first Uber Eats account, and completing their first eligible order from the Restaurant, Retail or Grocery sections of the app. Aeroplan points can also be converted to Uber Cash in the Uber app, starting at only 3,000 points for $25.

In Monday’s announcement, Air Canada’s Vice President – Loyalty and Product, Scott O’Leary, said,

“Just as Uber is our members' favourite choice for rides and food delivery, we're confident they will love the addition of grocery and retail deliveries to our Aeroplan lineup. We're thrilled to expand our partnership with Uber in a way that helps our members earn more points through things they do every day.”

Also commenting on the expanded loyalty partnership, Uber Eats Canada’s General Manager of New Verticals, Klaas Knieriem, said,

“Together, Air Canada and Uber have again raised the bar for loyalty programs for Canadians across the country. Uber Eats has grown quickly from a platform to get your favourite meals delivered to a one-stop-shop for anything you need. Now, each time members order groceries or products from their favourite retailer through Uber Eats, they can get closer to their next exciting reward or adventure – from grocery list to bucket list.”
