Egyptian low-cost carrier Air Cairo has received their first Airbus A320neo, which will join the airline’s all Airbus fleet of seven aircraft. The aircraft is on lease from ICBC leasing and is powered by CFM LEAP-1A engines.
On Monday (April 26, 2021), Airbus announced the delivery of Air Cairo’s first Airbus A320neo on lease from ICBC leasing. The aircraft is powered by CFM LEAP-1A engines and joins Air Cairo’s all Airbus fleet of seven aircraft. With improved fuel efficiency and reduced emissions, the aircraft will be deployed on Air Cairo’s regional and international networks, serving destinations across Europe, Africa and the Middle East. The airline’s fleet expansion strategy aligns with the opening of new routes, fostering closer links across continents.
Air Cairo’s new A320neo is configured with a 186-seat all Economy Class layout. The aircraft offers exceptional technical, economic and environmental performance, while providing the widest cabin of any single-aisle aircraft and the latest generation inflight entertainment (IFE) system. The A320neo Family of aircraft incorporates the latest technologies, new generation engines, Sharklets and aerodynamics, which deliver a 20 percent reduction in fuel burn and CO2 emissions compared to previous generation Airbus aircraft. To date, the A320neo Family has received over 7,450 orders from more than 120 customers.
