On Friday (November 14, 2025), Airbus announced that Air Algérie has taken delivery of the first of eight Airbus A330-900s, as part of their long-haul fleet modernization program.   Once all aircraft are delivered, Air Algérie will become the largest A330-900 operator in Africa.  The state-of-the-art A330neos will play a key role in Air Algérie expansion plans from Algiers, enabling the launch of new transatlantic and Asian routes.  The carrier’s new A330neo is configured in a three-class cabin layout with 18 full-flat seats in Business, 24 in Premium Economy and 266 in Economy Class.

The Airbus A330neo features the award-winning Airspace cabin, offering passengers a high level of comfort, ambiance, and design. This includes more individual space, enlarged overhead bins, a new lighting system and access to the latest in-flight entertainment (IFE) and connectivity systems.  Air Algérie will be positioned as a centre of excellence for the A330neo, supported by the development of their maintenance and repair capabilities and the establishment of a maintenance training center.

As of October 31, 2025, the A330 Family had won over 1,900 firm orders from more than 130 customers worldwide.  As with all in-production Airbus aircraft, the A330neo can already operate with up to 50 percent Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF).  Airbus plans on having their aircraft up to 100 percent SAF capable by 2030.
