Aeroflot Celebrates Delivery of the Airline’s First Airbus A320neo

Aeroflot announced the delivery of their first Airbus A320neo today, becoming the first Russian airline to operate the aircraft type. The new aircraft bears the name of the outstanding Soviet and Russian Diplomat, Anatoly Dobrynin.

On Tuesday (May 25, 2021) Aeroflot announced the delivery of their first Airbus A320neo, which has been named after Anatoly Dobrynin, a famed Soviet and Russian Diplomat. The new aircraft, which will provide an enhanced level of comfort for Aeroflot guests, marks the first time the aircraft type will be operated by a Russian carrier. Aeroflot’s new A320neo has been configured with 12 Business Class and 144 Economy Class seats, with Business seats offering a generous 96.5cm pitch and Economy seats offering a comfortable pitch of up to 76.2cm as well as an ergonomic backrest.


Economy Class guests will be able to charge their personal electronic devices onboard and each seat is also equipped with a convenient tablet holder. Business Class seats feature stylish Jacquard upholstery, 13-inch HD screens, individual power and USB charging ports. All passengers can connect to Aeroflot’s wireless inflight entertainment system on their personal mobile devices, and the airline also offers access to high-speed Wi-Fi. Business Class galleys have been equipped with Nespresso coffee makers, ensuring that guests will enjoy the aroma of freshly brewed coffee. Additionally, the aircraft features enlarged overhead bins and variable LED mood lighting with color changes that help make the journey pleasant at any time of day.



With new, quiet and fuel-efficient engines, as well as sharklets, the A320neo delivers a 20 percent reduction in fuel burn and CO2 emissions compared to previous generation aircraft. Aeroflot will take delivery of an additional eight A320neos by the end of 2021.

According to Cirium’s On-Time Performance Review, Aeroflot was the world’s most on-time mainline airline for 2019. The carrier has also received a five-star rating from OAG for flight punctuality. In 2020, Brand Finance, a leading brand strategy consultancy, declared Aeroflot the strongest brand in Russia, as well as the “world’s strongest airline brand.” According to Bain and Company research, Aeroflot ranks fourth in the airline industry for digitalization.
