AerCap Signed $8.3 Billion in Financing Transactions and Leased, Purchased and Sold 179 Aircraft in

Despite a difficult year for the industry, the global leader in aircraft leasing signed $8.3 billion in financing transactions and leased, purchased and sold a total of 179 aircraft during 2020.

On Tuesday (January 5, 2021), Dublin-based AerCap Holdings N.V. announced their major business transactions during the fourth quarter and full-year 2020. During the year the company signed financing transactions valued at approximately $8.3 billion, signed new lease agreements for 97 aircraft and purchased 36 new aircraft. AerCap also sold 46 aircraft during the year.


For the fourth quarter of 2020, the company signed financing transactions of around $2.8 billion and lease agreements for 31 aircraft including nine widebody and 22 standard body aircraft. Additionally, during Q4 2020, AerCap purchased 18 aircraft including 12 Airbus A320neo Family, one Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner and five Embraer E2s. The company also sold 12 aircraft during the fourth quarter including two Airbus A320 Family, two Boeing 737NGs, two Boeing 737 Classics, two Boeing 757s, three Boeing 767-300ERs and one Boeing 777-300.
