AerCap Announces the Signing of Lease Agreements with FlySafair for Three B737 MAX and two 737NGs

AerCap has today announced the signing of lease agreements for three Boeing 737-8 MAX jets and two 737NGs with new customer FlySafair.

On Tuesday (November 18, 2025) from day two of the Dubai Airshow 2025, AerCap announced the signing of lease agreements for three Boeing 737-8 MAX jets and two 737NGs with new customer FlySafair. Founded in 2014, FlySafair is Southern Africa’s leading low-cost carrier (LCC). The Boeing 737-8s will be delivered from the first quarter of 2028, while the 737NGs will be delivered from Q3 2026. FlySafair is also the trusted domestic carrier for the Springboks Rugby Team and the Proteas Cricket Team, offers budget-friendly flights for domestic travel between ten local airports. The airline also operates five international routes, connecting South Africa with their neighboring African countries.
In Tuesday’s announcement, AerCap’s Chief Commercial Officer, Peter Anderson, said,
“We are very pleased to welcome FlySafair as a new customer to AerCap, and to support their fleet modernization plan. We thank the team at FlySafair for their partnership and wish them every success as they expand their network to meet growing customer demand.”
Also commenting on the new lease agreements, FlySafair’s Chief Marketing Officer, Kirby Gordon, said,
