WestJet Launches Year Round Service Between Moncton and Calgary

Building on exceptional summer demand, WestJet will now offer two weekly year-round flights between Moncton and Calgary. The announcement was celebrated today at a special event in downtown Moncton with WestJet team members and notable partners.

On Tuesday (July 25, 2023), WestJet announced that based on exceptional summer demand, the carrier will now offer two weekly year-round flights between Moncton and Calgary on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The airline’s newest investment in Moncton was celebrated today at a special event in downtown Moncton attended by WestJet team members, along with notable partners including Courtney Burns, President of the Greater Moncton International Airport Authority, John Wishart, CEO of the Chamber of Commerce from Greater Moncton (CCGM), and Mayor Yvon LaPierre of Dieppe.


In Tuesday’s announcement, WestJet’s Vice President – External Affairs, Andrew Gibbons, said,


“Our new year-round service between Moncton and Calgary affirms our commitment to the city of Moncton and surrounding region and brings to life our commitment to expand east to west connectivity. By extending service between Moncton and Calgary to a year-round cadence, leisure, cargo and business economies in both cities will thrive like never before.”


Also commenting on the launch of year-round service to Calgary, Greater Moncton Airport Authority’s President, Courtney Burns, added,


“We are thrilled with WestJet's announcement to continue its non-stop direct service between Calgary and Greater Moncton year-round. Two non-stop direct flights per week on Tuesdays and Thursdays will allow both business and leisure travellers to conveniently experience what each amazing destination has to offer.”


In 27 years of service, WestJet has cut airfares for Canadians in half and increased the flying population around Canada by over 50 percent. The airline launched in 1996 with three aircraft, 250 employees and five destinations, and has now grown to more than 180 aircraft and 14,000 employees, offering service to over 110 destinations in 24 countries.
