WestJet celebrated the launch of inaugural service between Saskatoon and Minneapolis today with the departure of WS1900 at 7:10 a.m. MST. For summer 2023, the route will operate three times weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
On Monday (June 19, 2023), WestJet announced the launch of inaugural service between Saskatoon and Minneapolis with the departure of WS1900 at 07:10 a.m. MST this morning. The route will operate three times weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for summer 2023. Inbound travelers to Minneapolis-St. Paul (MSP) can also enjoy seamless one-stop connectivity through WestJet’s longstanding partnership with Delta Air Lines to destinations such as Boston, New York, Washington D.C. and more.
In Monday’s announcement, WestJet’s Director – Government Relations & Regulatory Affairs, Jared Mikoch-Gerke, said,

This new connectivity between Saskatoon and Minneapolis will further enhance transborder travel options for the communities we serve and stimulate vital business and tourism opportunities on both sides of the border.”
Also commenting on the new Minneapolis service, Saskatoon Airport Authority’s President and CEO, Stephen Maybury, said,
“The Saskatoon Airport is committed to provide air service that connects Northern Saskatchewan to the world. As we recover from the pandemic, we continue to work closely with our partners on new service and routes which drive economic benefit to our community, connecting leisure travel and business to Saskatchewan. We are thrilled to welcome WestJet's new direct, 3x weekly air service route into the Minneapolis hub.”
In 27 years of service, WestJet has cut airfares for Canadians in half and increased the flying population around Canada by over 50 percent. The airline launched in 1996 with three aircraft, 250 employees and five destinations, and has now grown to more than 180 aircraft and 14,000 employees, offering service to over 110 destinations in 24 countries.
