In early July, Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) started to operate charter flight on behalf of tour operator ITAKA of Poland. The partnership allows the carrier to continue operations outside of Ukraine during the war.
On Thursday (July 7, 2022), Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) announced that since early July they have been operating charter flights on behalf of the tour operator ITAKA of Poland. The partnership is allowing the carrier to service European tourist traffic outside of Ukraine during the war. The charter program includes the deployment of a Boeing 737-900, registration UR-PSL, which will be based at Katowice Airport and serviced by four UIA crews. As part of the business cooperation, UIA plans daily flights both from the base airport as well as Warsaw, Krakow and Rzeszow.
Currently, UIA and ITAKA are analyzing the potential expansion of the network charter destinations on offer with an extension of the partnership until the end of the high tourist season. As a long-term IOSA certified operator, Ukraine International Airlines ensures all flights are operated in accordance with international operational safety standards.
