Boeing has today announced that Turkish Airlines has placed an order for up to 75 787 Dreamliners, including a firm order for 35 787-9s and 15 787-10s, plus options for an additional 25. The carrier also plans on purchasing up to 150 737 MAX Family jets.

On Friday (September 26, 2025), Boeing announced that Turkish Airlines, the national flag carrier of Türkiye, has placed an order for up to 75 Boeing 787 Dreamliner Family airplanes, including 35 787-9s, 15 787-10s, and options for 25 more. Additionally, the carrier announced their intent to purchase up to 150 more 737 MAX Family jets, which will be Turkish Airlines’ largest-ever Boeing single-aisle order when finalized. Combined, this order will double the size of the airline’s Boeing fleet and expand capacity, as the carrier continues to grow their expansive global network.
In Friday’s announcement, Turkish Airlines’ Chairman of the Board and the Executive Committee, Prof. Ahmet Bolat, said,
“This landmark agreement represents much more than a fleet growth. It is a reflection of our leadership in the industry as well as our dedication to innovation and operational excellence. The addition of these advanced Boeing aircraft to our fleet will not only enhance our operational capabilities but also become a significant element supporting Turkish Airlines’ 2033 Vision of expanding our fleet to 800 aircraft.”
Also commenting on this landmark airplane order, Boeing Commercial Airplanes’ President and CEO, Stephanie Pope, said,
“We are honored that Turkish Airlines has once again chosen the 787 Dreamliner and 737 MAX to power its future growth. As a proud partner to Türkiye and the Turkish aviation industry for 80 years, we look forward to continuing our support of Turkish Airlines as they expand operations and deliver exceptional experiences to their passengers.”
With a network that reaches the most countries of any airline in the world, Turkish Airlines operates over 200 Boeing jets today, including the 787-9, 777, 737 MAX, Next-Generation 737 and 777 Freighters. With the addition of the larger derivative 787-10, Turkish Airlines will benefit from additional passenger and cargo capacity while improving fuel efficiency on high-demand routes between Istanbul and destinations across the U.S., Africa, Southeast Asia and the Middle East. The Boeing 787 Dreamliner Family offers superior passenger comfort with the largest windows of any widebody jet, air that is less dry and pressurized at a lower cabin altitude, and technology that senses and counters turbulence for a more comfortable ride.
To date, Boeing has delivered over 1,200 787 Family airplanes, which now serve approximately 500,000 passengers, connecting more countries than any other widebody jet.
With offices in Ankara and Istanbul, Boeing has invested $2 billion in supply chain development in Türkiye, creating nearly 5,000 local jobs. These investments help foster growth in the country’s aerospace sector, promote innovation, and enhance the integration of Turkish industry into the global aerospace supply chain.
