Next winter, TAP Air Portugal will launch two weekly flights between Lisbon and the Dominican Republic. The new Punta Cana route complements TAP’s existing service to Cancun, which started on March 27, 2021.
On Monday (June 14, 2021), TAP Air Portugal announced the launch of twice-weekly service between Lisbon and Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic for winter 2021/2022, complementing TAP’s new service to Cancun which started on March 27, 2021. The Lisbon-Punta Cana route will be operated with a state-of-the Airbus A330neo, offering a quiet and comfortable cabin, featuring the most advanced technology, including a cutting edge IFE and connectivity system. Tickets are now available for purchase, with free booking changes up to three days prior to departure, for tickets purchased by July 31, 2021.
Flights will depart Lisbon on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 17:00, arriving in Punta Cana at 21:20. The return flight departs the Dominican Republic at 22:50 and arrives in Lisbon at 10:20 (all times local). Return fares start at €399 including taxes or 58,000 miles for TAP Miles&Go members.
Additionally, since last year TAP has offered a complimentary insurance policy which helps cover COVID-19 related costs, providing guests with additional peace of mind. The cover is valid for customers residing in Portugal after buying return tickets in Portugal with Classic, Plus Executive and Top Executive fares. The insurance covers up to nine passengers per booking for a maximum of 30 days, starting up to 90 days after purchasing flights, among other conditions.
