SWISS has appointed Silvia Exer-Kuhn and Mike Pelzer as new media spokespersons, succeeding Marco Lipp who left in April and Sonja Ptassek who will depart the company in July, both on their own accord to pursue opportunities outside of the company.
On Thursday (May 12, 2022), Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) announced the appointment of Silvia Exer-Kuhn (49) and Mike Pelzer (33) as new media spokespersons. They will succeed Marco Lipp who left in April and Sonja Ptassek who will depart the company in July, both at their own request to take on new professional opportunities. Exer-Kuhn and Pelzer will assume their new roles in July 2022. Silvia Exer-Kuhn has been responsible for operations communications and PR & events for SWISS’ cabin crew corps since 2015. Prior to joining SWISS, she spent over 20 years in journalism, including 14 years a a journalist, and project leader with SRF Swiss TV.
In Thursday’s announcment, SWISS’ Head of Media Relations, Karin Montani, said,
“I am delighted that, in Silvia Exer-Kuhn, we have appointed a communications specialist with extensive media experience and an excellent in-house network and, in Mike Pelzer, we have secured the services of a proven media spokesman with such communications expertise. I offer Sonja Ptassek my warmest thanks for her 13 years of service and commitment as a SWISS media spokeswoman. With her professionalism and her wide experience, she has been a key pillar in our Media Relations team. I would also like to thank Marco Lipp for all his work with us throughout the coronavirus pandemic. I wish Sonja and Marco all the very best and every further success in both their personal and their professional futures.”
Mike Pelzer joins SWISS from the Ringier Publishing Group where he currently serves as Media Spokesman. Previously he was a PR Consultant with Rod Kommunikation, a public relations firm, and spent a number of years as a TV host at the start of his career. Pelzer and Exer-Kuhn will join Meike Fuhlrott and Michael Stief on the SWISS Media Relations team under the leadership of Karin Montani.
