SriLankan Airlines Expands Codeshare Partnership With Qatar Airways

SriLankan Airlines announced on Friday an expansion of their codeshare partnership with Qatar Airways which will strengthen their presence in the U.S. and Europe. The codeshare expansion commenced on February 8th, 2020, greatly enhancing travel opportunities.

On Friday, February 7th, SriLankan Airlines announced an expansion of their existing codeshare partnership with Qatar Airways which will strengthen their presence in Europe and the U.S. SriLankan will now codeshare on Qatar Airways flights between Doha and Chicago-O’Hare (ORD), Houston (IAH), Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW), Boston (BOS), Washington, D.C. (IAD), Madrid-Barajas (MAD), and Larnaca International Airport in Cyprus (LCA). Both airlines offer convenient daily connections between Qatar Airways’ Doha hub and Colombo’s Bandaranaike International Airport in Sri Lanka. In Friday’s announcement, SriLankan Airlines’ Group Chief Executive Officer, Vipula Gunatilleka said,


“The expansion of our partnership with Qatar Airways is an important element in SriLankan’s ongoing initiatives to provide seamless connectivity for our valued passengers across a wide range of destinations, apart from increasing the number of cities that we ourselves fly to.”


Both airlines are also members of the oneworld® global alliance offering customers more than 1,000 destinations to over 180 countries and territories through 13 airline partners. With the codeshare expansion announced last Friday, SriLankan Airlines’ route network will service 116 cities in 51 countries. SriLankan’s guests can now book a single ticket for seamless international travel via Doha, Qatar.
