Starting May 2021, Southwest Airlines is launching new service to Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport (VPS) in Florida as well as service to Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport (BZN) in Montana.
On Thursday (February 28, 2021), Southwest Airlines announced the launch of new service to Destin/Fort Walton Beach in Florida and Bozeman, Montana. Starting May 6, 2021, the carrier will commence service to their 11th airport in Florida with new service to Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport (VPS). Customers will be able to fly nonstop between VPS and four destinations including Baltimore/Washington (BWI), Dallas (Love Field), Nashville and Chicago-Midway (from June 6, 2021). Starting May 27, 2021, Southwest is also launching new service to Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport (BZN) in Montana, bringing guest faster access to Yellowstone National park, Big Sky Ski Resort, Custer Gallatin National Forest and Montana State University. Nonstop service to and from Bozeman will be available from Las Vegas (LAS) and Denver (DEN).
Commenting on the new routes, Southwest Airlines’ Executive Vice President & Chief Commercial Officer, Andrew Watterson, said,

Our arrival in these communities with daily service also ushers a new flexibility and everyday affordability for local travelers flying Southwest for fun, family, or work.”

In 2020, Southwest added service to Hilo (Hawaii), Cozumel (Mexico), Miami, Palm Springs (California), Steamboat Springs and Montrose/Telluride (Colorado). This year the carrier has added Chicago-O’Hare, Sarasota/Bradenton, Savannah/Hilton Head, Colorado Springs, Houston-Bush, Santa Barbara, Fresno, Destin/Fort Walton Beach, Bozeman (Montana) and Jackson (Mississippi).
