Singapore Airlines to Launch Seasonal Seattle and Vancouver Service, Adds SFO to VTL Network
Singapore Airlines will launch four weekly seasonal flights from Vancouver and Seattle, which will operate from December 2, 2021 through February 15, 2022. Two of the weekly Seattle-Vancouver-Singapore flights operated as Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) services.

On Monday (October 11, 2021), Singapore Airlines (SIA) announced the launch of four weekly flights to Vancouver and Seattle, with two of the weekly Seattle-Vancouver-Singapore services operated as Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) flights. The routes will operate from December 2, 2021 through February 15, 2022. The airline will also convert their daily nonstop service between San Francisco and Singapore to VTL flights starting October 20, 2021. Eligible fully-vaccinated customers traveling on VTL flights will not be required to quarantine in Singapore. The carrier previously announced the launch of VTL flights from Los Angeles and New York.
In Monday’s announcement, Singapore Airlines’ Senior Vice President of Marketing and Planning, Ms. JoAnn Tan, said,
“With the new Singapore-Vancouver-Seattle flights and the conversion of San Francisco-Singapore to a VTL service, SIA customers can enjoy even more seamless travel options to North America during the year-end holiday season. SIA will continue to monitor the demand for air travel, and adjust its services accordingly.”
Singapore Airlines will operate the Singapore-Vancouver-Seattle service with a 253-seat Airbus A350-900 featuring 42 Business Class, 24 Premium Economy and 187 Economy Class seats. SIA’s twice-weekly designated VTL flights SQ29 will depart Seattle at 11:00 and arrive in Vancouver at 11:45 the same day. The flight will then depart Vancouver at 13:15 and arrive in Singapore at 22:05 the next day. The carrier will also operate flight SQ27 twice-weekly, which is not a designated VTL flight for customers who are not eligible to enter Singapore under the VTL scheme.
San Francisco VTL service will be operated with a 161-seat Airbus A350-900ULR featuring 67 Business Class and 94 Premium Economy Class seats. Flight SQ24 will depart Singapore at 18:40 and arrive in San Francisco at 19:05, while the return flight, SQ33, departs San Francisco at 22:05 and arrives in Singapore at 05:45 two days later. Customers wishing to travel on VTL flights should note that Vaccinated Travel Pass applications open on Tuesday, October 12, 2021.
With the addition of San Francisco, Seattle and Vancouver, the SIA Group’s VTL network now includes service from 17 cities. From October 19, 2021, SIA will operate VTL services from Amsterdam, Barcelona, Copenhagen, London, Los Angeles, Milan, New York and Paris. VTL service from Rome launches on October 19, 2021, while VTL service from Seoul will start on November 16, 2021. Currently, the airline’s top performing VTL routes include flights from Bandar Seri Begawan, Frankfurt and Munich. SIA’s sister airline Scoot will launch VTL flights from Berlin on October 20. 2021.
