Scan Global Logistics has joined Air France and KLM’s SAF program to reduce emissions from business travel, supporting the Group’s goal to reduce CO2 emissions by 50 percent by 2030. SAF reduces lifecycle emissions by at least 75 percent versus traditional fossil fuels.
On Monday (November 21, 2022), KLM announced that Scan Global Logistics has joined the Group’s SAF program for business travel. Introduced in 2012, the program offers partners and business customers the opportunity to participate in the custom tailored corporate program designed to increase SAF demand and production. The use of SAF reduces lifecycle emissions by at least 75 percent compared to traditional fossil-based jet aviation fuel. The new agreement with Scan Global logistics will help support Air France-KLM Group’s goal of reducing CO2 emissions by 50 percent by 2030. Air France-KLM and Scan Global Logistics have cooperated for many years and participation in the SAF program further strengthens this relationship.
In today’s announcement, Air France-KLM Group’s Sales Director for Denmark, Anita Wagner Feddersen, said,
“We are very pleased, but not at all surprised, that Scan Global Logistics is joining our SAF program to ensure that the emissions from their business trips with Air France and KLM are reduced. Scan Global Logistics is a company with a strong and early stance and high ambitions when it comes to sustainability. We also see an increased interest among Danish companies in discussing how to reduce emissions from business trips - the so-called scope 3 emissions. Thanks to our SAF program, we have a solution for companies of all sizes. Welcome aboard - Scan Global Logistics.
Also commenting on the new sustainability collaboration, Scan Global Logistics’ Global Head of Sustainability & Quality, Martin Andersen, added,
“We believe that partnerships are the key to unlocking emissions reductions across the value chain. It is important to enter into partnerships with like-minded companies and work together. We are part of the transport sector, just like Air France and KLM, and we have a shared responsibility to limit global warming by accelerating our own efforts.”
