SAUDIA Expands Fleet With the Addition of a New Airbus A321neo

SAUDIA has added a new A321neo, and plans on adding 20 more of the type to their fleet by 2026. The aircraft delivers a 20 percent reduction in fuel burn and CO2 emissions, as well as a 50 percent smaller noise footprint compared to previous generation aircraft.

On Monday (July 31st, 2023), SAUDIA announced the expansion of their operating fleet with the addition of a new Airbus A321neo, which will be followed by 20 more of the type by 2026. Under the slogan ‘a neo-way of flying’, the fuel-efficient aircraft will offer the carrier a 20 percent reduction in fuel burn and emissions, a 50 percent smaller noise footprint, five percent lower airframe maintenance costs, and 14 percent lower operating costs per seat, compared to previous generation aircraft.


In Monday’s announcement, SAUDIA’s CEO, Captain Ibrahim Koshy, said,

Our priority is to offer the best guest experience possible and to bring the world to Saudi Arabia, and we will continue to purchase state-of-the-art aircraft from the world’s top manufacturers to deliver on that promise. We commend Airbus for continuously looking to improve the performance of their aircraft, which goes in line with SAUDIA's ambition to provide the best guests experience possible while contributing to make aviation more sustainable.”


As part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s National Tourism Strategy, SAUDIA connects guests to over 100 destinations worldwide via their state-of-the-art hub at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah and other stations across Saudi Arabia. The carrier recently launched new service to Kano (Nigeria), Dar es Salaam (Tanzania), Beijing (China), London Gatwick and Birmingham (UK), the Republic of Djibouti, Nice (France) and Johannesburg (South Africa). Kuwait airways also recently introduced 13 new destinations for summer 2023, including service to Athens (Greece), Antalya (Turkey), Nice (France) and Malaga (Spain).
