SAUDIA and Malaysia Airlines have signed a codeshare partnership, which provides seamless connections via SAUDIA to Madina and Al-Ula, as well as Cairo. Travelers from the Kingdom will enjoy access to Penang, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide via Malaysia Airlines.

On Thursday (December 22, 2022), SAUDIA announced a new codeshare partnership with Malaysia Airlines, expanding destinations and travel options for customers of both airlines. Under the agreement, Malaysia Airlines ‘MH’ flight code has been added to SAUDIA flights departing Kuala Lumpur with service to Jeddah and Riyadh, as well as flights between Madinah and Cairo. Customers will also enjoy convenient onward connectivity with SAUDIA via Jeddah and Riyadh to some of the Kingdom’s most prominent destinations such as Madinah and Al-Ula. Likewise, SAUDIA’s ‘SV’ flights code has been added to Malaysia Airlines’ flights departing Kuala Lumpur with service to Penang, along with Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide in Australia.
In Thursday’s announcement, SAUDIA’s Chief Executive Officer, Captain Ibrahim Koshy, said,
“We are pleased to cooperate with Malaysia Airlines to give its passengers the opportunity to learn about the warm Arab hospitality that SAUDIA is famous for all over the world, as well as providing access to various destinations in the [Middle East] region. We look forward to enhancing the prospects of bilateral relations in the future.”
Also commenting on the new codeshare agreement, Malaysia Airlines Group’s Chief Executive Officer, Captain Izham Ismail, added,
“We are delighted to welcome SAUDIA as our new codeshare partner to leverage each other’s network, allowing two full-service carriers to expand their operations to South East Asia and Australia as well as the Middle East respectively. This partnership will strengthen Malaysia Airlines' presence in Saudi Arabia and build upon a strong relationship between the two carriers. It will also complement our double daily commercial services via Doha with Qatar Airways, as well as flights to Jeddah and Madinah operated by AMAL by Malaysia Airlines for umrah and hajj journeys.”
Established in 1945, Saudi Arabian Airlines (SAUDIA) is the national carrier of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and one of the largest airlines in the Middle East. In recent years the carrier has invested heavily in their fleet of 144 standard body and widebody aircraft, and now operates one of the world’s youngest fleets with an average aircraft age of five years. Currently, SAUDIA operates a network that includes around 100 destinations across four continents, including service to all 28 domestic airports in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
