On Tuesday (February 3, 2026), SAS announced that they are strengthening their commercial cooperation with Romanian carrier TAROM through the signing of a new codeshare agreement.  With the new agreement, SAS customers gain access to TAROM‑operated flights between Bucharest and major European hubs such as Amsterdam, Brussels, Frankfurt, and Prague, with onward connections on SAS‑operated flights to Copenhagen, Oslo, and Stockholm. TAROM will place their code on these SAS services between the hubs and Scandinavia, enabling smoother travel between Romania and the Nordic region.

In Tuesday’s announcement, SAS’ EVP and Chief Commercial Officer, Paul Verhagen, said,

This new partnership with TAROM marks an important step in enhancing connectivity between Scandinavia and Romania. By combining our networks and offering smooth transfers via key European hubs, we are giving our customers more choice, flexibility, and convenience across their journeys.  Together with TAROM, we look forward to delivering a seamless and reliable travel experience for all passengers.”

Guests traveling on these codeshare services will also benefit from SAS’ ongoing investment in the onboard experience, including the rollout of high‑speed Starlink Wi-Fi across SAS‑operated flights.  These enhancements ensure a smoother, more connected journey whenever the itinerary includes segments flown by SAS, while the broader cooperation with TAROM provides seamless travel across both networks.

Founded in 1946, SAS is the leading airline in Scandinavia, with main hubs in Copenhagen, Oslo and Stockholm, and flying to 135 destinations across Europe, the U.S. and Asia.  Each year, SAS serves over 25 million passengers and transports 60,000 tons of cargo, all facilitated by a passionate team of more than 10,000 colleagues.  The company aims to be a driving force in sustainable aviation and in the transition towards net zero emissions by 2050.  SAS also offers ground handling services, technical maintenance and air cargo services.  SAS officially joined the global SkyTeam airline alliance in September 2024, and together with their partner airlines offers a wide network worldwide.  On July 4, 2025, the Air France-KLM Group announced their intention to take a majority ownership stake in SAS, further expanding one of Europe’s leading aviation groups.
