Max Knagge, formerly the Head of Sales for the U.S. market, has been appointed CEO of SAS Cargo. Mr. Knagge succeeds Leif Rasmussen who is leaving the position after 38 years of service with SAS.
On Wednesday (December 9, 2020), SAS announced the appointment of Max Knagge as the new CEO of SAS Cargo. Mr. Knagge previously served at the airline’s Head of Sales for the U.S. market and he succeeds Leif Rasmussen in the position, who is leaving after 38 years of service. Over the last decade, SAS Cargo has developed into a key player within Scandinavian infrastructure and has taken a leading industry role in digital transformation. Since the onset of the global COVID-19 pandemic, SAS Cargo has played a critical role in the transport of medical equipment and cargo across borders, helping to support society throughout the crisis. In Wednesday’s announcement, SAS’ EVP & Chief Services Officer, Kjetil Håbjørg, said,
“I am confident Max will build on SAS Cargo’s history and continue developing its role as an important provider of critical transport infrastructure, globally as well as within Scandinavia. His strong track record at SAS and international experience makes him an ideal candidate to successfully take over the reins at SAS Cargo. I am impressed by and immensely grateful for the work Leif Rasmussen has done for SAS Cargo.”
