On Monday (December 1, 2025), SAS announced an expansion of their commercial cooperation with Aeromexico with a new codeshare agreement effective immediately.  Under the new agreement, SAS customers can connect seamlessly from Copenhagen, Stockholm, and Oslo to Mexico City International Airport (MEX) via key gateways in the United States and Canada, including San Francisco, Boston, Newark, Seattle, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Miami, Washington D.C., and Toronto.  Likewise, Aeromexico customers gain easy access to SAS’ main destinations across Denmark, Norway, and Sweden.

In Monday’s announcement, SAS’ EVP and Chief Commercial Officer, Paul Verhagen, said,

“The new codeshare agreement with Aeromexico strengthens SAS’ main hub in Copenhagen and provides access to several destinations in Mexico.  Travelers can now reach Mexico City, Guadalajara, Cancun, and the country’s many historical and cultural sites.  This expands connectivity to Europe, Asia and North America. With SAS’ reliable operations and strong on-time performance, journeys remain smooth and predictable.”

Also commenting on the new codeshare agreement, Aeromexico’s SVP – Global Sales, Giancarlo Mulinelli, said,

“The implementation of this new agreement allows us to bring our customers closer to a wider variety of destinations, as well as attracting travelers from Scandinavia to the wide range of tourist attractions that Mexico has to offer.  With this, we now have codeshare agreements with 14 partner airlines, through which we reinforce our commitment to connecting Mexico with the world, not only through the routes we operate, but also through the network of strategic allies, such as SAS.”

Customers traveling on codeshared itineraries will enjoy single-ticket journeys and through-checked baggage.  Additionally, members of SAS EuroBonus and Aeromexico Rewards will benefit from reciprocal SkyTeam privileges, including earning and redeeming points, priority boarding, and lounge access.  Today’s announcement, builds on SAS’ recent collaborations with Vietnam Airlines and WestJet, reflecting on the airline’s commitment to building strong partnerships that enhance loyalty benefits and create new opportunities for customers worldwide.

Founded in 1946, SAS is the leading airline in Scandinavia, with main hubs in Copenhagen, Oslo and Stockholm, and flying to 135 destinations across Europe, the U.S. and Asia.  Each year, SAS serves over 25 million passengers and transports 60,000 tons of cargo, all facilitated by a passionate team of more than 10,000 colleagues.  The company aims to be a driving force in sustainable aviation and in the transition towards net zero emissions by 2050.  SAS also offers ground handling services, technical maintenance and air cargo services.  SAS officially joined the global SkyTeam airline alliance in September 2024, and together with their partner airlines offers a wide network worldwide.  On July 4, 2025, the Air France-KLM Group announced their intention to take a majority ownership stake in SAS, further expanding one of Europe’s leading aviation groups.
