Qatar Airways announced on Wednesday that they will resume service to 11 worldwide destinations, expanding their network to more than 430 weekly flights to over 65 cities. The carrier previously announced the launch of three weekly flights to Toronto.
Yesterday (July 1st, 2020), Qatar Airways announced their largest single day of flight resumptions with the start of flights to 11 new worldwide destinations. In what the carrier has dubbed ‘Take-off Wednesday,’ Qatar Airlines relaunched service to Bali-Denpasar, Beirut, Belgrade, Berlin, Boston, Edinburgh, Larnaca, Los Angeles, Prague, Washington DC and Zagreb from July 1st, 2020. With yesterday’s announced expansion, Qatar Airways will offer over 430 weekly flights to more than 65 destinations by mid-July. The carrier continues to work with governments around the world to reinstate flights in accordance with entry restrictions. By the end of July, the airline hopes to operate nearly two-thirds of their pre-pandemic network, with close to 3,500 scheduled flights.
In a separate announcement on Tuesday (June 30, 2020), Qatar Airways announced the start of three weekly flights to Toronto Pearson International Airport from July 4, 2020. Flights to Toronto will be operated with Airbus A350-900s configured with 36 Business and 247 Economy Class seats. In Tuesday’s announcement, Qatar Airways Group’s Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker said,

Our unrivaled experience in taking people home safely and reliably continues to provide the assurance people need. We have built a strong level of confidence with passengers, governments, trade partners, and airports as a trusted partner during this crisis and we intend to continue delivering on this mission. We have worked closely with the Government of Canada and its embassies around the world during this crisis to bring home safely over 16,000 Canadians through our scheduled flights to Montreal and special charter flights to Toronto and Vancouver. Qatar Airways has never stopped operating to Canada throughout the crisis and we are pleased to be able to further strengthen our support for the people of Canada with the addition of these three weekly scheduled flights to Toronto.”
With Tuesday’s announcement, Qatar Airways now offers seven weekly flights to Canada with three weekly flights to Toronto and four weekly flights to Montreal. Currently, the carrier operates one of the largest global networks with more than 275 weekly flights to 49 destinations. As previously mentioned, Qatar Airways will offer over 430 weekly flights to more than 65 destinations by mid-July.
Qatar Airways has enhanced onboard safety measures for guests and crew including PPE suits for cabin crew (including masks and gloves) and a modified meal service designed to limit contact. Passengers are also required to wear face coverings inflight, and the carrier recommends travelers bring their own for personalized fit and comfort. Additionally, Qatar Airways now allows unlimited date changes for tickets (within 5,000 miles of the original destination) for travel completed before December 31, 2020, without any fare difference charges.
Business Class Guests traveling on Qatar Airways’ award-winning Qsuite will enjoy a private sanctuary with sliding privacy partitions and fully closing doors. Customers can also use the ‘Do Not Disturb’ (DND) indicator in their private suite to limit crew interactions. Qsuite is currently available on flights to over 30 destinations including London, Sydney, Singapore and Dallas-Fort Worth and will be added to more routes throughout the summer.
