Qatar Airways Resumes Service Between Doha and Mykonos
Qatar Airways has resumed regular flights between Doha and Mykonos, marking the start of a new travel bubble between Qatar and Greece. Now, fully-vaccinated holidaymakers will no longer have to quarantine upon arrival in Greece.
On Friday (May 14, 2021), Qatar Airways announced the resumption of regular flights between Doha and Mykonos in Greece, marking the start of a new travel bubble between the countries. Travelers who are fully-vaccinated will no longer be required to quarantine upon arrival in Greece. The carrier celebrated the touchdown of the first resumed flight on Friday, an Airbus A320 that landed in Mykonos after the short flight from Doha. The aircraft features 12 lie-flat Business and 120 Economy Class seats. Throughout the crisis, Qatar Airways maintained connectivity with Athens and currently operates daily Boeing 787 Dreamliner service to the Greek capital.
In Friday’s announcement, Qatar Airways Group's Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, said,
“Just under three years since we first launched flights between Doha and Mykonos and despite the huge impact the pandemic has had on leisure travel, this important agreement between Qatar and Greece is hopefully the start of a strong recovery for leisure travel. Greece is an important market for us, and the Mykonos route was hugely popular following its launch in May 2018. We look forward to a resurgence in that popularity over the coming months.”
Qatar Airways Holidays is currently offering quarantine-free holiday packages to Mykonos starting at QAR 4,410 (US $1,183) for three nights, including breakfast and transfers, for travel from May 14th through September 30, 2021.
Qatar Airways is the national carrier of the state of Qatar and from mid-summer 2021 will operate over 1,200 weekly flights to more than 140 destinations, providing more flexible travel options to more global destinations than any other airline.
