Qatar Airways Introduces Festive Holiday Touches to Surprise and Delight Guests

This holiday season, the airline will create bespoke menus, décor and heartwarming moments throughout the travel experience. Qatar Airways’ guests traveling to and from destinations in the U.S., Europe, Australia, New Zealand and other select flights will enjoy the festivities.

Today (December 17, 2020), Qatar Airways announced the introduction of festive holiday touches to surprise and delight guests traveling from December 19th and December 26, 2020 to and from destinations in the U.S., Europe, Australia, New Zealand and select destinations in Asia and Africa. Business Class guests will be greeted with a seasonal welcome drink and bespoke holiday menu card featuring a range of flavorful holiday dishes. The menu includes smoked salmon tartare with pink pepper smokes scallops, beetroot and Ikura roe, beef Wellington with turmeric mashed potatoes, grilled sweet potatoes, pumpkin, oyster mushroom and beef au jus and a spicy raspberry chocolate dome for dessert. Premium guests will also be served with quiet holiday reminders such as a festive napkin band, rich hot chocolate with marshmallows and a signature limited edition ‘Seasons Greetings’ message pillow.


In Thursday’s announcement, Qatar Airways Group’s Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, said,


“This year has been incredibly challenging due to the ongoing pandemic. That is why this year we are investing more efforts than ever before into our festive activities on board and at HIA, to bring the joy back to flying. In the coming weeks, tens of thousands of passengers will travel with us for a vacation or to visit family and friends abroad and our aim is to continue to unite family and friends and make their journey even more memorable during this special time.”


The Economy Class cabin will be dressed in bespoke holiday headrest covers and customers will be treated to a delightful seasonal menu featuring turkey chasseur, turmeric mashed potatoes with parsley and a traditional Christmas pudding for dessert.


For the first time, the airline has also created festive touches throughout the Al Mourjan Business Lounge at Hamad International Airport. Customers can delight in the seasonal décor and flower arrangements as well as holiday gift box displays. Visitors can feast on an assortment of holiday delicacies from the buffet or select from a special digital à la carte menu. Those wishing to embrace the holiday spirit can join a large communal table with stunning decorations such as holiday-inspired place mats, bread liners, napkin bands and specially curated table décor, which will bring people together to share a delightful meal. Guests can choose from an expansive menu including favorites such as a Waldorf salad, stuffed turkey roulade, beef Wellington, yule log, gourmet hot chocolate and toasted marshmallows, signature mocktails and more.
