Qatar Airways Expands U.S. Network With 12 Destinations and Over 85 Weekly Flights

Qatar Airways will resume four weekly flights to Atlanta on June 1st, fully returning their U.S. pre-pandemic network to 12 gateways, two more than before the crisis. The carrier will also increase frequencies to Boston, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco and Seattle.

On Thursday (May 27, 2021), Qatar Airways announced the expansion of their U.S. network with service to 12 destinations and over 85 weekly flights. The carrier will resume four weekly flights to Atlanta on June 1st, 2021, fully restoring their pre-pandemic network, plus two more gateways. Additionally, Qatar Airways will increase route frequencies to Boston, Miami, New York, Philadelphia, and Seattle, expanding their U.S. offer to over 85 weekly flights. The increased service also expands connectivity via Doha to the carrier’s global network of leisure destinations including Cape Town, the Maldives, the Seychelles and Zanzibar, as well as other key destinations in Africa, Asia and the Middle East.


In Thursday’s announcement, Qatar Airways Group’s Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, said,

“Despite the challenges of the pandemic, Qatar Airways has remained committed to its passengers and trade partners in the United States, maintaining continuous services while rebuilding its U.S. network and launching two new destinations - San Francisco and Seattle. We have also strengthened our presence in the U.S. through strategic partnerships with Alaska Airlines, American Airlines and JetBlue that have enabled us to connect to more points in the United States than any other airline, providing U.S. travellers the most convenient way to travel internationally this summer.

Qatar Airways is the national carrier of the state of Qatar and from mid-summer 2021 will operate over 1,200 weekly flights to more than 140 destinations, providing more flexible travel options to more global destinations than any other airline. Qatar Airways was named the ‘World’s Best Airline’ in the 2019 World Airline Awards managed by Skytrax as well as the ‘Best Airline in the Middle East’ and ‘World’s Best Business Class.’ The carrier has also been awarded the title for ‘Best Business Class Seat’ in recognition of their ground-breaking Qsuite product which offers a spacious 1-2-1 seat layout and is available on flights to more than 40 destinations including Johannesburg, Frankfurt, New York and Singapore.


Additionally, Qatar Airways is the only carrier to have ever received the prestigious “Skytrax Airline of the Year” title five times. The airline normally serves over 170 global destinations with a fleet of more than 250 modern aircraft. Qatar Airways’ primary hub is located at Hamad International Airport in Doha, Qatar.
