With the codeshare expansion, Qatar Airways will place their code on 45 additional LATAM Airlines Brazil flights, expanding connectivity across Brazil to destinations including Curitiba, Manaus, Porto Alegre, Rio de Janeiro, Sao Luiz and Vitoria.
On Monday (January 4, 2021), Qatar Airways announced an expansion of their codeshare partnership with LATAM Airlines Brazil which will increase South America connectivity. Under the expansion, Qatar Airways will place their code on 45 additional LATAM Airlines Brazil flights to destinations including Curitiba, Manaus, Porto Alegre, Rio de Janeiro, Sao Luiz and Vitoria. LATAM Airlines Brazil will also place their code on Qatar Airwaysâ recently expanded 10 weekly flights to and from SĂŁo Paulo as well as additional destinations via Doha such as Bangkok, Hong Kong, the Maldives, Nairobi, Seoul and Tokyo. The expanded codeshare agreement builds on the existing partnership which was established in 2016 and expanded in 2019. In Mondayâs announcement, Qatar Airways Groupâs Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, said,
âSouth America is a strategically important market for Qatar Airways. We are proud to demonstrate our strong commitment to passengers travelling to and from South America by providing even more flexible travel options. By increasing SĂŁo Paulo services to 10 weekly flights and expanding our codeshare agreement with LATAM Airlines Brasil, we will further cement our position as the airline of choice for customers travelling between Asia, the Middle East and South America.

Also commenting on the codeshare expansion, LATAM Airlines Brazilâs CEO, Mr. Jerome Cadier, added,

In addition to extensive domestic connectivity in Brazil, Qatar Airwaysâ guests will also enjoy seamless access to international destinations on LATAM Airlines Brazilâs South American network such as Lima (Peru), Montevideo (Uruguay) and Santiago (Chile). LATAM Brazilâs customers will also benefit from Qatar Airwaysâ 10 weekly flights to/from SĂŁo Paulo operated with a state-of-the-art Airbus A350-1000, featuring the award-winning Qsuite Business Class seats. Additionally, frequent flyers will be able to earn and redeem miles across the entire networks of both carriers and will receive tier status recognition and benefits such as priority check-in and boarding.
