On Tuesday (October 3, 2023), Porter Airlines announced the addition of Los Angeles (LAX) and San Francisco (SFO) to their Toronto Pearson (YYZ) network from January 16th and January 25, 2024, respectively. Both routes will operate daily with a single-class 132-seat Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, featuring a two-by-two configuration with no middle seats. Connections are available across Porter’s Canadian network, including Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Halifax and St. Johns. The new LAX and SFO routes are Porter’s first to the western U.S., and will complement the five E195-E2 destinations in Florida launching this fall, including Tampa, Fort Myers, Orlando, Fort Lauderdale and Miami.

In Tuesday’s route announcement, Porter Airlines’ EVP and Chief Commercial Officer, Kevin Jackson, said,

“Porter’s onboard experience focuses on providing economy travellers with service that is unmatched by any carrier in North America. We believe that every passenger deserves genuine hospitality and high-quality service that makes time onboard our aircraft something to look forward to. “We are excited to welcome Porter Airlines to the fleet of airline partners offering gold-star service at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). LAX passengers will now have more choices to fly nonstop to Toronto - the second most popular destination in Canada from LAX, and the seventh most popular international destination. We look forward to the start of the new service this winter and we thank Porter Airlines for choosing to expand their United States operation at LAX.”
