Porter Airlines Inaugural Flight Between Toronto and Los Angeles Takes to the Skies

Porter Airlines’ inaugural flight between Toronto and Los Angeles took off on Tuesday, January 16, 2024.  The route will now operate daily with a 132-seat all Economy Class Embraer E195-E2.

On Tuesday (January 16, 2024), Porter Airlines announced the departure of their inaugural flight between Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).  The route will now operate daily with an all Economy Class 132-seat Embraer E195-E2 jet.  The aircraft delivers the lowest fuel consumption per seat compared to any jet in the 120 to 150 seat aircraft, and is also 65 percent quieter.

In Tuesday’s announcement, Porter Airlines’ EVP and Chief Financial Officer, Kevin Jackson, said,

“The level of service that Porter provides is something that no other airline offers for economy passengers on this route.  Our focus on delivering an elevated economy experience allows passengers to receive celebrity treatment before immersing themselves in the rich cultural scenes of Toronto and Los Angeles.”

Also commenting on Porter’s new LAX service, Los Angeles World Airport’s Chief Operations and Maintenance Officer, Michael R. Christensen, added,

“We are excited to welcome Porter Airlines and its efficient Embraer E195-E2 jet to Los Angeles International Airport.  This new flight and partnership will not only strengthen the existing ties between greater Toronto and Southern California but will provide travelers with another option to experience each region’s renowned business and tourism offerings.”
