On Wednesday (December 13, 2023), Alaska Airlines announced a new partnership with Porter Airlines, which becomes Alaska’s 30th global airline partner.  Porter is launching new nonstop service to both Los Angeles and San Francisco in January 2024, and the new partnership will allow seamless connectivity to Alaska’s West Coast network.  Alaska Airlines’ Mileage Plan members who book Porter flights on Alaska’s website will also earn 100 percent of the miles flown and 100 percent elite-qualifying miles.

In Wednesday’s announcement, Alaska Airlines’ VP – Loyalty, Alliances and Sales, Brett Catlin, said,

“Porter Airlines opens new opportunities for our guests to travel to Canada in style.  We’re thrilled to partner with a vibrant and growing airline that offers a refined experience including top-notch inflight service and terrific onboard amenities.”

Also commenting on the new commercial partnership, Porter Airlines’ EVP and Chief Commercial Officer, Kevin Jackson, said,

“Porter has been redefining economy air travel for more than 17 years.  As our network expands across North America, this partnership with Alaska Airlines will enable travelers in the western U.S. to enjoy our elevated onboard experience when flying to Toronto and throughout Eastern Canada.  Alaska and Porter emphasize service excellence on each and every flight, so this partnership is a natural fit for our passengers.”

Porter’s new routes to Los Angeles and San Francisco link to Toronto and beyond with connections across Eastern Canada such as Montreal, Ottawa and Halifax.  Los Angeles service will commence on January 16th, while San Francisco flights will begin on January 25, 2024.  Both California routes will be operated with a state-of-the-art 132 passenger Embraer E195-E2 jet with no middle seats.

Porter Airlines’ guests enjoy an elevated onboard service, free, fast Wi-Fi, a selection of premium snacks, along with free wine and beer served in glassware.  Customers booking all-inclusive PorterReserve fares will also enjoy priority check-in, extra legroom seats, premium pre-mixed cocktails, and fresh, healthy meals.  These premium benefits can also be booked à la carte by customers booking PorterClassic fares.
