PLAY Airlines has opened ticket sales for service from Vilnius, Lithuania, which will commence on May 25, 2024. The low-cost carrier operates flights between North America and Europe with Iceland as their hub.
On Monday (February 12, 2024), Play Airlines announced the opening of ticket sales for new service from Vilnius, Lithuania, which will start on May 25, 2024. PLAY is a low-cost carrier operating flights between North America and Europe, with Iceland as their hub. The carrier also offers customers the opportunity to book a stopover in Iceland for up to 10 days at no additional cost, before they continue their journey across the Atlantic.
In Monday’s announcement, PLAY’s CEO, Birgir Jónsson, said,
“It’s no secret that Iceland and Lithuania have had a long-distance love affair for over thirty years, or since Iceland supported the Baltic independence. That is why we are so happy to be able to offer the residents of Vilnius our flights to Iceland. It is also no secret that we offer competitive prices everywhere we go, so we hope we will strengthen the bond between these two great nations even further with our services this summer.”
Currently, PLAY operates flights from Baltimore, Boston, New York, and Washington D.C. in the U.S., as well as from Toronto, Canada. Visitors to Iceland can enjoy spectacular natural wonders such as waterfalls, glaciers, geysers and extraordinary wildlife, all available within a few hours from Reykjavik. Iceland’s colorful capital is a destination in itself, offering a rich culture, fantastic restaurants and a vibrant nightlife.
