Muscat-based Oman Air has been elected as a new oneworld® member by the alliance’s Governing Board, which is comprised of the Chief Executives of all member airlines. Qatar Airways will act as sponsor, supporting the airline's integration into the alliance.
On Monday (June 20, 2022), oneworld announced that their Governing Board, which is comprised of the Chief Executives of all member airlines, has elected Oman Air as a member designate. Qatar Airways will act as sponsor for Oman Air’s entry into the global alliance, providing guidance and support as the carrier integrates into the network. Integration is expected to be implemented in 2024, at which time the carrier will provide a full range of oneworld benefits. Oman Air Sinbad frequent flyer members will then be able to earn and redeem miles on all oneworld member airlines, with top tier members receiving enhanced benefits such as lounge access when traveling on any member airline.
In today’s announcment, oneworld Governing Board Chairman and Qatar Airways Group’s Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, said,

Passengers of Oman Air will be offered a seamless travel journey, connecting them to more than 900 destinations across 170 countries. Also commenting on Oman Air’s entry into the alliance, oneworld’s CEO, Rob Gurney, said,
