On Friday (March 25, 2022), Norwegian Air announced the reopening of direct routes from Sandefjord Airport TORP to Alicante and Malaga. Starting March 27th the carrier will offer two weekly flights to Alicante on Sundays and Thursdays, while Malaga flights will operate twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays from March 28, 2022. The resumed service from TORP marks the end of a two year hiatus due to the impact of the global COVID-19 pandemic. Norwegian began operations at Sandefjord Airport in November 2021, with the launch of service to Alicante, and since then destinations in Spain such as Alicante and Malaga have been the most popular routes.

In Friday’s announcement, Norwegian’s Executive Vice President – Networking, Pricing and Planning, Magnus Thome Maursund, said,

“We are very happy to be back and reopen the routes from TORP to Malaga and Alicante. We now ensure that our passengers have a good offer to the most popular holiday destinations in Spain, and we look forward to welcoming our many loyal customers in the region on board again.”

Also commenting on Norwegian’s restart of service from TORP, Sandefjord Airport’s Marketing Manager, Tine Kleive-Mathisen, said,

“The last two years have been tough for everyone in aviation so now we look forward to welcoming Norwegian back to Sandefjord and TORP. The routes to Alicante and Malaga are very popular and there are many who have been waiting for the opportunity to fly with Norwegian from here.”
