On Tuesday (August 10, 2021), Norse Atlantic Airways announced an update on their plans to launch long-haul low-cost operations. The carrier expects transatlantic demand to return during the first half of 2022, and anticipates that their entire fleet of 15 Boeing 787 Dreamliners will be serving guests between Europe and the U.S. by summer 2022. Norse Atlantic Airways will have approximately 1,600 employees by next summer. The airline plans on offering service from Oslo, London and Paris to U.S. destinations including Florida, New York and Los Angeles.

Additionally, the carrier presented their launch livery and basic brand identity elements today, which were developed by a small in-house team and a local agency.

In Tuesday’s announcement, Norse Atlantic Airways’ CEO, Bjørn Tore Larsen, said, “We strongly believe that there is a need for a new and innovative airline serving the low-cost intercontinental market with modern, more environmentally friendly and fuel-efficient aircraft as the world gradually reopens. Our plans oar on track and operations will commence when travel restrictions are lifted and demand for transatlantic travel is back. Based on the current situation, we anticipate that all 15 of our Dreamliners will be flying customers between Europe and the U.S next summer, We will launch our ticket sales approximately three months prior to our first flight and will offer exciting destinations that have proven to be attractive.”

Speaking on the great interest shown on both sides of the Atlantic since the airline’s launch earlier this year, as well as the airline’s brand identity, Mr. Larsen added,

“We are grateful for the interest, which translates to a very motivated Team Norse. Like the Norsemen who traveled and explored the world with their state-of-the-art longships, Norse Atlantic Airways will give people the opportunity to explore other continents by offering affordable flights on board modern and more environmentally friendly Boeing 787 Dreamliners.”
