Mesa Air Group Signs Letter of Intent to Lease an Additional Boeing 737-400F to Operate for DHL

The company has announced that they have signed a letter of intent to lease an additional Boeing 737-400F aircraft, which is expected to be available in May 2021. Mesa Air Group currently operates two 737-400Fs under a capacity purchase agreement with DHL.

On Tuesday (February 23, 2021), Mesa Air Group announced that they have signed a letter of intent to lease an additional Boeing 737-400F. The aircraft is expected to be available in May 2021, when it will join two other 737-400Fs currently operated by the carrier on behalf of DHL.


In Today’s announcement, Mesa Air Group’s Chief Operating Officer, Brad Rich, said,


“This 737-400F will be a great addition to the cargo fleet. The investment in a third 737 aircraft demonstrates our focus on cargo operations and our commitment to DHL. This aircraft will provide Mesa pilots with additional career advancement opportunities and provide flexibility to better meet the demands of the current cargo environment.”


Phoenix Arizona-based Mesa Air Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: MESA) is the holding company of Mesa Airlines which offers scheduled service to 114 cities in 39 states, Washington D.C., the Bahamas, Canada and Mexico, as well as cargo services out of Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport. As of January 31st, 2021, the carrier operated around 393 daily departures with a fleet of 159 aircraft. The company currently has approximately 3,200 employees. Mesa Air operates flights as American Eagle, United Express or DHL Express, pursuant to capacity purchase agreements with the mainline passenger and cargo carriers.
