Lufthansa has announced that their co-branded Miles & More credit card program will be moved to Deutsche Bank effective October 1, 2025, and will feature more benefits and services at the same price.

On Wednesday (September 17, 2025), Lufthansa Group announced that starting October 1, 2025, the Lufthansa Miles & More Credit Card will be issued by Deutsche Bank. In addition to the existing benefits, the card will offer improved services and new features, all at the same card price. The gradual transition to Deutsche Bank will take place by spring 2026 to ensure a seamless move for all customers, and Mastercard will remain the partner for the cards. As a special gesture of appreciation, cardholders will not be charged a card fee for the first month after the transition, and will also receive an exclusive changeover bonus in the form of miles and points, depending on their card type and frequent flyer status.
In Wednesday’s announcement, Lufthansa Group’s Chief Commercial Officer, Dieter Vranckx, said,”
“With the new Lufthansa Miles & More Credit Card, we have developed a product with Deutsche Bank that offers our customers significant added value – with proven services, attractive innovations, and a fresh design. We look forward to offering our customers even more benefits as part of this strong partnership.”
Also commenting on the new co-branded credit card partnership, Deutsche Bank’s Head of Cash Management, Ole Matthiessen, said,
“We are focusing on growth with Lufthansa's successful loyalty program. With the new credit card, we are expanding our offering for our customers as a global principal bank worldwide and look forward to offering them further attractive benefits and services in the future.”
Mastercard Germany’s Managing Director, Dr. Peter Robejsek, added,
“We are delighted to be working with our partners to usher in a new era for one of the world's most successful loyalty programs. The new Lufthansa Miles & More Credit Card offers cardholders a wide range of benefits – from secure and convenient payments to exclusive travel and lifestyle experiences.”

Current Miles & More credit cardholders will be informed in writing about the next steps in the transition, and naturally, the ability to earn miles will continue throughout the transition phase. Frequent flyers will be contacted first and can benefit from a special transition bonus, followed by cardholders without frequent flyer status and new customers. The credit card must be reapplied for as part of the bank transition. Existing DKB credit cards will remain fully valid until the individual change or subsequent cancellation by DKB. This change affects the entire Miles & More credit card portfolio in Germany.
