On Tuesday (November 16, 2021), Lufthansa announced that the group’s airlines (Lufthansa, Swiss, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines and Eurowings) will offer 80,000 additional seats on 440 extra flights for Christmas and New Year’s Day. In response to increasing demand, the Lufthansa Group airlines will resume routes, increase frequencies or deploy larger aircraft. From Lufthansa’s Munich and Frankfurt hubs alone, the carrier will offer more than 120 additional flights with a capacity of 25,000 seats during the Christmas period.

The Group has seen increasing demand for U.S. destinations, especially New York and Florida. In Europe, demand is growing for travel to Spain, the Canary Islands, Portugal and other sunny Mediterranean destinations, as well as Scandinavia. Naturally, flights to snow-sure ski resorts in the Finnish Lapland are back on the schedule, with service from Frankfurt to Ivalo and Kuusamo (Finland), as well as from Munich to Kittilӓ (Finland) and Tromsö (Norway). All additional flights are now available for booking. Lufthansa reminds travelers to consider destination entry and quarantine requirements when booking travel. Guests can also find information at www.auswaertiges-amt.de or by clicking here.

Customers traveling with Lufthansa Group airlines currently have the opportunity to make their air travel CO2 neutral. In addition to the option of offsetting their flight via high-quality climate projects, Lufthansa guests can already fly with sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). All Group airlines have integrated the options into the booking process, and frequent flyers can find them in the Miles & More app. Additional information is available at Compensaid.com.
