LOT Polish Airlines Named Best Airline in Eastern Europe by Global Traveler Magazine

LOT Polish Airlines announced on Thursday that they have been named ‘Best Airline in Eastern Europe’ by Global Traveler, an American magazine for business travelers.

Yesterday, LOT Polish Airlines announced that they have been named “Best Airline in Eastern Europe” for the third year in a row by Global Traveler magazine. The U.S. based magazine is read by a wide audience of managers and frequent business travelers. The Global Traveler awards are chosen by experts and readers who choose the best hotels, airlines and loyalty programs annually. In the air transport category, there are 38 different awards and at the gala ceremony in Los Angeles, LOT was selected as the best airline in the Eastern European region. In Thursday’s announcement, LOT Polish Airlines’ CEO, Rafal Milczarski said,


“The award, granted for the third time in a row by the American Global Traveler magazine, is proof of the growing popularity of LOT not only in Europe but in the United States. Over the past four years, we have more than doubled in growth, launching more than 70- new destinations and acquiring 40 aircraft. We are constantly improving our product and increasing the offer of available connections, including to the USA. Last year we had 8.9 million passengers traveling with us, and this year we will break the record of 10 million passengers carried onboard our aircraft. This is yet another token of LOT’s ability to leverage the region’s potential through the development of two hubs in Warsaw and Budapest and to become the leader in Central and Eastern European transport.”


LOT Polish Airlines offers up to 110 daily departures worldwide and has launched more than 70 direct flights since 2016 including service from Warsaw to Miami, Los Angeles, Newark, Seoul, Tokyo and Singapore. The airline also offers service from Cracow to Chicago and New York and Rzeszow to Newark. In 2020, LOT will offer new service to from Warsaw to Beijing-Daxing starting January 15th, and San Francisco from August 5th. LOT currently offers service from their hub in Budapest to New York, London-City Airport, Warsaw and Cracow and will increase the total number of destinations to 13 in 2020. Additional destinations from Budapest will include Brussels, Belgrade, Stuttgart, Bucharest, Prague, Sofia, Dubrovnik and Varna. In 2020 service to Seoul will also be increased from three to four flights weekly, and frequency to New York will be increased to seven weekly flights.
