On Monday (November 24, 2025), LOT Polish Airlines announced the launch of their inaugural flight between Warsaw (WAW) and Stavanger (SVG) in Norway.  The route will now operate year-round, four times weekly.  Flight LO489 will depart for Stavanger at 08:10 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, while the return flight to Warsaw, LO490, will depart Stavanger at 11:25 on the same days.  Stavanger is just the latest addition to the network of LOT’s Northern European network.  Flights to Reykjavik were launched last April, while a seasonal Warsaw-Rovaniemi connection will be inaugurated on November 27, 2025.

In Monday’s announcement, LOT Polish Airlines’ Network Director, Robert Ludera, said,

“It is estimated that there are currently approximately 110,000 Poles living in Norway, making them one of the largest ethnic groups in the country.  I do believe that our direct flights to Stavanger will facilitate travel between Poland and Norway, complementing the existing connections to Oslo.  The Stavanger and Rogaland region is not only one of the most important oil industry centers in Europe - it is also an area that stands out thanks to its tourist attractions which continuously lure increasing numbers of travelers.  We invite everyone to discover Scandinavia together with LOT Polish Airlines.”

LOT Polish Airlines connects Central and Eastern Europe with the rest of the world, including the U.S., Canada, India, Japan and South Korea.  The carrier operates long-haul flights with state-of-the-art Boeing 787 Dreamliners.  Founded in 1929, LOT Polish Airlines is the 11th oldest airline in the world, and is also one of the most internationally recognized Polish brands.
