KLM has announced that latest milestone in their fleet renewal program, as their first Airbus A350 has move to the Final Assembly Line (FAL) in Toulouse.

On Friday (April 3, 2026), KLM Royal Dutch Airlines announced a major milestone in their fleet renewal, as the airline’s first Airbus A350 is now on the Final Assembly Line at Airbus in Toulouse. This is where all the major components come together and the aircraft takes its final shape, with the tail already featuring the signature KLM livery. KLM expects to take delivery of the aircraft by the end of summer 2026.
The Airbus A350 represents an important step towards a cleaner and quieter KLM fleet. Compared to the Boeing 777-200ER, the A350 consumes 25 percent less fuel and has a 40 percent smaller noise footprint. For passengers, the A350 sets a new standard in comfort, offering the quietest cabin in its class, improved air quality, and higher cabin pressure. Pilots will benefit from a fully digital cockpit, providing new opportunities for efficiency and support.

In the coming years, KLM will invest €7 billion in their fleet renewal program. In addition to the introduction of the Airbus A350, this includes the Embraer 195-E2 for KLM Cityhopper, new Airbus A321neos for European routes, and the Boeing 787 Dreamliner for intercontinental flights. Additionally, in 2027, the Airbus A350F Freighter will join the carrier’s fleet for cargo operations.
