On Tuesday (June 25, 2024), Jetstar announced the launch of Jetstar Asia’s inaugural flight between Broome in Western Australia and Singapore.  With the new service, Jetstar Asia becomes the only carrier to operate international flights into regional Western Australia.  The new seasonal service will operate twice weekly on Tuesdays and Saturdays with an Airbus A320, offering nearly 13,000 low-fare seats on the route annually.  Inbound travelers to Broome, the gateway to the Kimberly region, can enjoy stunning natural beauty, including the white sands of Cable Beach, the dinosaur footprints at Gantheaume Point, and whale watching in the Indian Ocean.  The route will operate through October 26, 2024, before recommencing in April 2025.

In Tuesday’s announcement, Jetstar Asia’s COO, Geoffrey Lui, said,

We know our customers love to explore, and with our low fares, they can now add Broome to their list of must visit destinations.  As we continue to grow, we remain committed to delivering new experiences for our customers while making international travel more accessible and affordable.  We would like to thank Tourism WA and Broome International Airport for their ongoing support in connecting the two cities with our low fares travel.”

Also commenting on the new route launch, Broome International Airport’s CEO, Craig Shaw said,

“Jetstar’s connection to Singapore creates enormous potential for tourism and trade opportunities for the region. It also greatly adds to the liveability of the North West, providing residents with easy and affordable access to the rest of the world.  Broome International Airport is proud to play a role in helping stimulate positive economic growth for the Kimberley.”

Changi Airport Group’s VP – Market Development, Mr. Peh Ke-Wei, added,

“The new service by Jetstar Asia further strengthens the connectivity between Singapore and Australia, making Changi Airport the most connected international gateway to Australia. Together with Jetstar’s upcoming Perth to Singapore services, passengers can look forward to even greater travel options and seamless connections between Western Australia and Singapore.”
