On Tuesday (June 1, 2021), JetBlue announced the launch of scheduled revenue service of their first Airbus A321neo configured with a reimagined premium Mint product. The flight departed New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) enroute to Los Angeles International Airport at 10:30 a.m. EDT. The aircraft is scheduled to operate select flights on the JFK-LAX route over the next few weeks. The new Mint experience features 16 fully lie-flat private suites with a sliding door, including two ultra-spacious ‘Mint Studios’, a custom designed seat cushion by Tuft & Needle® and countless touches to help the guests feel at home. The aircraft also includes 144 core seats with the most legroom in coach, based on average U.S. fleetwide seat pitch, and an unparalleled inflight entertainment and connectivity experience.
“The A321neo with Mint’s entry-into-service marks yet another exciting milestone for the company this year, and will continue to position JetBlue to compete effectively on this key route. From a completely reimagined Mint, to our award-winning core experience, coupled with the superior economics of the A321neo aircraft, JetBlue is resetting the standard for transcontinental flying and will add even more relevance to our customers in Mint markets.”
The new aircraft, tail number N2105J, has been named ‘NEO Mintality’ and features a unique ‘Ribbons’ optical art (Op Art) tailfin design. NEO Mintality is JetBlue’s 16th A321neo and the first to feature their reimagined premium Mint product. JetBlue will introduce a 24 seat Mint layout on their Airbus A321LR, which is scheduled to operate flights from New York-JFK to both London-Heathrow and London-Gatwick later this summer.
