On Saturday (February 19, 2022), JetBlue Airways announced the launch of inaugural service between New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Gustavo Diaz Ordaz International Airport (PVR) in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, with the first flight touching down in the popular leisure destination this afternoon. Puerto Vallarta is now the carrier’s third ‘BlueCity’ in Mexico and the route will be operated four times weekly with a mix of Airbus A321neos and A320s. JetBlue will now be the only airline offering direct service between JFK and Puerto Vallarta, with more weekly flights from the greater New York City area to the Mexican Pacific coast than any other carrier.

In Saturday’s announcement, JetBlue’s Vice President of Network Planning, Andrea Lusso, said,

“As demand for travel continues to increase, we are excited to introduce the new route to Puerto Vallarta, offering our Northeast customers a new destination in Mexico. We look forward to continuing expanding our network and international presence in Latin America as part of our growth strategy.”
