On Wednesday (April 24, 2024), JetBlue announced the launch of ‘Blueprint by JetBlue’, which delivers a more personalized inflight entertainment (IFE) experience, allowing guests to watch, save and discover content, just like at home.  The personalized IFE platform allows for more customizability across the travel journey, including some novel features never before seen on any U.S. airline.

In Wednesday’s announcement, JetBlue’s Head of Marketing and Customer Support, Jayne O’Brien, said,

“JetBlue has always been an innovator as the first to have seatback screens and fast, free and unlimited Wi-Fi on every aircraft.  By launching Blueprint by JetBlue, we are doubling down on our commitment to help customers create an inflight experience tailored to their needs and preferences, making their flight as comfortable as their own living rooms.”

Blueprint by JetBlue brings a range of new features to the carrier’s seatback touchscreen IFE system, including ‘Watch party’, which allows up to five guests on the same flight to watch the same movie of TV show at the exact same time.  The platform also includes content recommendations based on viewing history, and allows customers to pick up where they left off from flight to flight.  Additionally, customers can save film and TV selections to watch on future flights, so they can spend less time searching.  Accessibility and system settings like volume, language, parental controls and closed captions can also be saved.  To access personalized functions, customers will need to opt-in to securely authenticate their profiles on the AVANT seatback touchscreens.

Customers will now also be able to change their preferred name on their JetBlue travel profile, which will be displayed in a personal welcome message on seatback screens.  If a guest is traveling on their birthday, they will be greeted with confetti graphics on the IFE screen, along with a complimentary beverage (21+ only).  Other features allow customers to access their JetBlue connecting flights and gates right at their seat.  Seatback ordering has now also been extended to JetBlue’s Airbus A321neos with Mint aircraft, further elevating the guest experience on all transatlantic flights.  The new personalization functions are rolling out on the carrier’s AVANT touchscreen aircraft powered by Thales, and are expected to be completed by May 2024.

JetBlue is ‘New York’s Hometown Airline®’ and a leading carrier in Boston (BOS), Fort Lauderdale (FLL), Los Angeles (LAX), Orlando (MCO) and San Juan (SJU).  The airline carries guests to over 100 destinations across the U.S., Caribbean, Latin America, the United Kingdom (London Heathrow and Gatwick), Paris, Amsterdam, and Dublin.  JetBlue Airways Corporation trades on the NASDAQ under the ticker symbol JBLU.
