JetBlue has today announced the appointment of Sean Menke as an Independent Director on the carrier’s Board, which became effective on September 12, 2024. Most recently, Mr. Menke served as Executive Chairman at Sabre Corp.
On Monday (September 16, 2024), JetBlue announced the appointment of Sean Menke to their Board of Directors. The appointment of Mr. Menke as an Independent Director was effective September 12, 2024. He served most recently as Executive Chairman at Sabre Corp., a position he held from early 2022 through April 2024. Menke joined Sabre in 2015 and in late 2016 was promoted to President and CEO, and then as Sabre’s CEO until April 2023. Prior to joining Sabre, Sean Menke spent over 20 years in the airline industry, notably serving as CEO of Frontier Airlines and Pinnacle Airlines. He also held senior-level commercial and operating roles with Air Canada and Hawaiian Airlines.
In Monday’s announcement, JetBlue’s Chairman of the Board, Peter Boneparth, said,
“We’re excited to welcome Sean to JetBlue’s board of directors. His diverse industry experience will be invaluable as we continue to strengthen the JetBlue business for our crewmembers, customers and owners.”
Also commenting on the appointment of Sean Menke to the company’s Board, JetBlue’s CEO, Joanna Geraghty, said,
“Having served in senior leadership positions at several U.S. airlines and as a business partner to airlines, Sean brings deep industry experience in strategy and planning, marketing, operations, revenue management, and distribution. We look forward to benefitting from his insights and expertise as we execute our JetForward strategy.”
JetBlue’s newest Board member, Sean Menke, added,

Mr. Menke holds dual bachelor’s degrees in economics and aviation management from Ohio State University and an MBA from the University of Denver’s Daniels College of Business. The appointment of Menke expands JetBlue’s Board to 13 members, 12 of whom are independent.
