JetBlue Appoints Renée Anckner as New Vice President and Associate General Counsel

JetBlue has promoted Renée Anckner to Vice President and Associate General Counsel. In her new role, Ms. Anckner will serve as JetBlue’s principal compliance and policy officer. She will continue to report to General Counsel and Corporate Secretary Brandon Nelson.

On Tuesday (August 9, 2022), JetBlue announced the promotion of Renée Anckner to Vice President and Associate General Counsel, reporting to JetBlue’s General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, Brandon Nelson. In her new role, Ms. Anckner will serve as the company’s principal compliance and privacy officer, and will also remain primary counsel for the commercial and infrastructure departments at JetBlue, regarding corporate and contractual matters. Additionally, Anckner will support JetBlue’s Board of Directors as Assistant Secretary.

In Tuesday’s announcement, JetBlue’s General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, Brandon Nelson, said,


“Renée has been an instrumental asset to JetBlue. She has a strong background in driving compliance strategy and risk awareness, as well as crafting and managing effective policies. Renée’s leadership and counsel will be invaluable as JetBlue continues to grow.”


Also commenting on her expanded role at JetBlue, Renée Anckner, added,

Renée Anckner joined JetBlue in 2017 as Director – Corporate Counsel, Infrastructure, Properties & Development. Since that time she has served as the carrier’s lead in-house Counsel for major infrastructure projects, including the recent partnership for the expansion and redevelopment of Terminals 6 and 7 at JFK. Her responsibilities have also included oversight of JetBlue’s contract review policy, as well as management of the airline’s privacy program and ethics and compliance team. Additionally, Renée provides legal support for JetBlue’s co-branded credit card portfolio agreements.


Before joining JetBlue, Ms. Anckner served as an outside counsel to the company. She practiced product liability litigations at several New York law firms, including as a partner with McCarter & English.
