JetBlue has today announced seven new routes, many made possible through their Northeast Alliance partnership with American Airlines. The expansion includes new routes from New York-LaGuardia, Newark, Boston and Los Angeles.
On Thursday (January 12, 2023), JetBlue announced the launch of seven new domestic and international routes, many made possible by their Northeast Alliance (NEA) with American Airlines. New routes from New York-LaGuardia (LGA) include service to Atlanta (ATL), Bermuda (BDA) and Hyannis (HYA) and Nassau (NAS), while Newark (EWR) will see new flying to Aruba (AUA) and Montego Bay (MBJ). The carrier will also launch new flights between Boston (BOS) and Vancouver (YVR), as well as between Los Angeles (LAX) and Puerto Vallarta (PVR).
In today’s route announcement, JetBlue’s Head of Revenue and Planning, Dave Clark, said,
“The Northeast Alliance continues to provide us with new opportunities to unlock even more growth potential in New York and Boston, with added benefits for customers across our network as we introduce new flying in markets where for too long travelers have had little or no competition. At the same time, we’re introducing new flying elsewhere in our network to grow on the West Coast as part of our broader 2023 growth plans.”
Across the three major New York airports, the Northeast Alliance will offer over 500 daily departures for 2023, as well as nearly 200 daily departures from Boston. To date, the NEA has resulted in approximately 50 new routes out of JFK, LGA, EWR and BOS, as well as increased frequencies on over 130 existing routes and 17 new international routes. For 2023, JetBlue will also offer service from LAX to 20 nonstop destinations, with over 40 peak daily departures.
JetBlue is ‘New York’s Hometown Airline®’ and a leading carrier in Boston (BOS), Fort Lauderdale (FLL), Los Angeles (LAX), Orlando (MCO) and San Juan (SJU). The airline carries guests to over 100 destinations across the U.S., Caribbean, Latin America and the United Kingdom (London Heathrow and Gatwick). JetBlue Airways Corporation trades on the NASDAQ under the ticker symbol JBLU.
